Boundaries This generation says: Protect yourself. Guard your boundaries…
Boundaries
This generation says:
Protect yourself.
Guard your boundaries.
Remove people who offend you.
Protect your peace.
Distance yourself from difficult people.
Cut them off.
Choose yourself first.
Guard your heart.
Don’t let anyone hurt you.
You deserve better.
And if someone disagrees with you… remove them.
This generation says:
Don’t disagree with me.
Don’t challenge me.
Don’t offend me.
And if you do, I will cancel you.
But love says:
Give yourself.
Lay down your life.
Bear with one another.
Forgive seventy times seven.
Prefer one another.
Carry one another’s burdens.
Serve.
Christ did not guard His boundaries.
He washed feet.
He bore insults.
He carried a cross.
Love does not isolate itself to protect its own comfort.
“He who isolates himself seeks his own desire;
He rages against all wise judgment.” — Proverbs 18:1
Judgment and discipline were never entrusted to the child.
They were entrusted to the parent.
They were entrusted to the elder.
Punishment is given to the child.
It was never entrusted to the child.
Why?
Because wisdom and love are supposed to live with those who bear responsibility.
The younger do not yet see the consequences of rebellion.
They do not yet understand the destruction that comes from rejecting correction.
Yet today something strange is happening.
People no longer recognize the moral law written on their own hearts.
They are told that conscience itself was installed by manipulative parents…
or by oppressive authorities.
Authority itself is no longer trusted.
It is called control.
It is called domination.
It is called fascism.
But who decided that all control is evil?
Control used for evil destroys.
But control used for good protects.
A fence protects the child from the cliff.
A parent restrains the child from harm.
Discipline preserves life.
There was a time when submission to wisdom was understood to be good.
Surrender to loving authority was understood to be protection.
But now the message is different.
Now the world says:
You do you.
Anything goes.
Nothing is wrong.
Except restriction.
Except correction.
Except authority.
In marriages now it is no longer about becoming one.
It is about boundaries.
Trigger words are everywhere.
Labels are everywhere.
Stereotypes are everywhere.
People are encouraged to place one another into categories…
instead of carrying one another’s burdens.
And those who try to warn, to guide, or to correct in love are told they are controlling.
They are told they are manipulating.
Words spoken out of concern are twisted into accusations.
The complexity of leadership is ignored.
The loneliness at the top is unseen.
The pressure of responsibility is forgotten.
And here is a distinction few people are willing to make.
Yes, true abusers exist.
Yes, some authority has been wicked.
But how many good, imperfect fathers…
good, imperfect husbands…
good, imperfect leaders…
are now being rejected along with the truly abusive?
How many people who love imperfectly are now labeled narcissists?
How many families are being fractured by a philosophy that sees control everywhere… but can no longer recognize sacrificial leadership?
History has seen this before.
During the French Revolution, not everyone who lost their head was cruel, arrogant, or oppressive.
Many simply belonged to the wrong category.
Guilt by association became enough.
Once a class is declared the enemy, nuance disappears.
All good fathers correct their children.
All good fathers warn their children.
All good fathers lecture them at times, trying to teach them wisdom and protect them from evil.
But that whole category is now being vilified.
And if the accusation is not strong enough to justify rebellion…
Then make something up.
Or make many things up.
But Scripture speaks plainly about the nature of childhood itself:
“Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child;
The rod of discipline will drive it far from him.” — Proverbs 22:15
Yet today something even darker is happening.
Doctrines of demons, modern philosophies, therapists, psychologists, and other enemies of truth are placing weapons of words into the hands of the foolish.
Accusations.
Labels.
Psychological categories.
Narratives of victimhood.
Weapons made not to heal families…
but to divide them.
Satan has always worked this way.
He turns children against their fathers.
He turns trust into suspicion.
Correction into abuse.
Love into control.
And once respect, humility, and submission are removed…
They are replaced with arrogance.
Self-love.
Pride.
The wise are separated from the foolish.
And the family begins to fracture.
But Scripture warned us long ago:
“He who isolates himself seeks his own desire;
He rages against all wise judgment.” — Proverbs 18:1
