I realize that I am a romantic, but so is God. He places supreme value on those who seem entirely out of reach and completely unwilling. But unlike God, we do not know the end from the beginning. I just know that we are the apple of His eye, and He understands the human heart. He is not jealous that the sons of man are the daily delight of His Son, and He is not jealous when we fiercely pursue another for His kingdom, because we love them and do not want to see them perish. He understands what it means to endlessly pursue without knowing the final outcome.
God‘s love, grace, and mercy are ultimate because even though He knows who will not receive Him in the end, He still presents every opportunity. He does not do this with coldness; He truly laid His life down and paid the price for every single soul.
The Word is clear that there are only gathers and scatterers. If we are not passionate about bringing people to the light, and if we are not part of the chain of human connection reaching into the darkness past the gates of hell, then we are working against Him and against love. The gates of hell will not prevail against His church, but that requires an active, relentless pursuit. We cannot afford to be passive when it comes to truth and love.
